I just aquired this claret jug - 10" inches tall - polished base w / 34 - 36 point cut star - it also features 4 stylized full raised tulips with like a fine band cut on the outline of the tulips on the body of the claret. The glass seems to have like a wavyness - The metal is being tested but I believe is silver -the top cap is missing mostlikely where it was marked. Handle Is very ornate with a small pumpkin on the top also leaves and flowers adorn the handle. Beaded work on the spout and along the top edge. Any ideas on what company - country- age - date - and pattern. Anything would help. Thanks for you're efforts and time. Above are some pictures. Thanks Again
This is a very beautiful piece. Check on the inside of the handle, and under the lid for markings on the silver. What a lovely handle! Welcome to CW!
Thanks for the comment - there are no markings my guess if there were it was on the missing lid. However the silver part is being tested today. I will post the results. Main thing I would like to know is approx. age and origin ( American European etc. ). I am thinking definately 19th century - early 19th. Thanks Again. rbjr
