    A UNIQUE SUPER OLD UNITED STATES NAVY FLASHLIGHT THIS WAS MADE BY THE STUART R. BROWNE MFG COMPANY...THE FLASHLIGHT HAS THE LETTERS U.S.N. STAMPED ON IT AND SAYS THIS FLASHLIGHT IS A PERMISSIBLE ELECTRIC FLASHLIGHT APPROVED BY THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF MINES APPROVED FOR SAFETY IN METHANE AND AIR MIXTURES THIS MEASURES EIGHT INCHES LONG, THE TOP LIGHT SECTION IS TWO AND A HALF INCHES ROUND THE HANDLE AREA MEASURES ONE AND ONE HALF ROUND THIS TAKES D BATTERIES THIS HAS BEEN TESTED AND IS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION THIS IS A RARE ITEM If you know any more about this let me know

      Hi vinvip46 I have one just like this,mine has U.S.N. on it. My uncle gave it to me after he left the navy. This light you and I have was manufactured in 1952. There are some very similar versions of this flashlight made by Stewart R Browne in 1939 as well.
