Any thoughts on who made this car?
It is very similar to early 1890s Benz cars, but I cannot find a match.
Any help is appreciated.

I think mustang is correct. Looks like that 1899 Locomobile Stanhope.
i thought MYtruck was old!
Scott ... is this the entire image or a crop? Tintype, or ...? Looks interesting. .: Rob
Thanks tony and majestic-- I think that you've got it!
scott
Thanks rob-- it has been cropped. I didn't want the entire image to detract from attention to the car.
I will post the entire image at some point.
scott
Thanks for looking mikko!

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the image. - Rob
Sure thing rob! I will give you a heads up when I post.

Thanks for looking vontrike.

Thanks for looking tom!
scott
Rob-- here is the full view of the car in the studio.
It has a Niagara Falls backdrop. It looks like the owner drove it right into the studio!
scott
This is an awecome picture with the backdrop. I've never seen anything like it - a full sized car in studio ... wow! Obviously the gentleman loved his auto to go through the effort to make this tintype ... great find! - Rob
Thanks rob-- I thought the same.
I have seen the "prop" cars before in images, but this (to me) appears to be his actual car. It was probably new at the time (1899) and he wanted to show it off. 19th century automobile images are an unusual find.

Thanks billy!

Thanks musik.

Looking through some of my automobile books, it could be a 1900 Mobile Steamer or like other members already posted a 1898-99 Locomobile.
Thanks pops!
