This light has hung in my home all my life- 60 years. It belonged to my mother before me- and I think they got it second hand just after they married in 1935. The peacocks are reverse painted on the three glass panels. The electrical part has been rewired several times through the years. It hangs in my entry, and I love it- but would like to know something more about its maker. I know nothing. There are no makers marks that I can find. I expect that they have been removed. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Very very nice lamp Mamamule.
Seldom do you find these post Art Nouveau fixtures attributed to a particular manufacture, most auction houses/dealers just refer to them as Art Nouveau or Art Deco hanging lamps. There were two major manufactures of cast filigree shades during that period, H.J. Peters Co. Chicago and Edward Miller Co. of Meriden, Connecticut.

Thank you for your response. I have no intension of selling it, but any idea what it might be worth?

Perhaps you could use this as a comparison...

You lamp is ,IMHO, vastly superior. Beautiful Light.

I agree with Savoychina, the subject matter on your lamp is much more in tune with the Art Deco period, anyone with Louis Icart type decor would pay dearly for your lamp.

Your lamp is absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Something like that is hard to put a price on. The right collector would have no problem paying hundreds or a thousand plus for your light.

OMG!!! Dave! Thank you! Unbelieveable. I think mine was painted by a different artist. but definatly the same thing! Wow!

U Welcome. I think also the shade was by a BETTER artist at the factory. They would have Ladies at the time paint these sitting around a work table. Some painters were better than others as yours clearly shows! Dave

I have the exact same light, hanging in my moms house, which was built in 1926 but the paint is failing inside the globe. I was always amazed at this light as a child.
