This view shows a lot of military material....was it left over from the War, or was it to keep the Austrians in line, or was it there to scare the Russians?
Here is a USFA training photo....
Now is pictured a USFA Officer, looking confident and dapper.
Finally s pictured an overview of a compound holding vehicles of all types, with tents in the foreground.
Neat photos! The photos look like they were taken in 1945 based on the officer's lack of ribbons on his uniform. If this is in Austria this is about where the US troops stopped and collected their equipment. I'm sure it was not there to impress anyone and shortly afterwards would have been moved out of Austria when Austria was put under Russian occupation by treaty. The Austrians were luckier than most and the occupation was shorter and much milder than what the rest of Eastern Europe had to endure.
