    Hello Again,
I picked these up today, a short time after finding the tea cup and saucer that I just posted. These are beautiful, a set of 6 knives with lovely Meissen? handles,( do you think they are Meissen? )
All of the blades are stamped ' StahlbronceW ', what exactly is that? A hardened steel?
Anyway, I wanted to post them to share them, and maybe get some info at the same time.

    Thank You!,
    Tonino

Translated, it means bronze steel but I am not a metalurgist. I also can't spell metallurgist.

Hello B, Thanks for the comment, your knives definitely look like mates to these.
I found a site on the net where they were posted as Meissen handled fruit knives. By the markings on your blades and mine I'd guess that they're German or Austrian.
If I find out any more about them I'll be in touch.
      Have a great week-end,
      T

Meissen makes "China" & is German but see no reference to cutlery. Their hallmark is crossed swords which is not a a set standard design. Crossed swords, who would expect such a suggestive hallmark from Germans?!
