The following information came from another website where this belt buckle was already sold. If anyone can verify this is the same buckle I would appreciate it.
BACKGROUND: After Hitler’s accession to power in 1933 he immediately began a restructuring of the national railway system and by early 1937 had succeeded in achieving a centralized efficient National Railway. With this restructuring new uniforms and insignia were introduced for railway personnel in 1933. Additional items of insignia were introduced and modified at various times throughout the war. Die stamped steel, box belt buckle as introduced for wear in July 1935 for Bahnschutz and Bahnpolizie enlisted personnel.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Early, injection molded, one piece aluminum example. 65mm x 50mm. Buckle features a slightly pebbled field base with embossed circular centerpiece. Slightly domed centerpiece features the Deutsche Reichsbahn emblem of a spoked, winged wheel above a canted swastika. Emblem is encompassed by a circular ribbed field with an inner and outer simulated twisted rope border, with embossed Latin script, "Deutsche Reichsbahn". Reverse with crimped on catch, prong bar and prongs all intact. Unmarked example.
It's amazing how fast they got the swastica into every design and logo!
