    Here are some images of the second dagger I found. This one is a little more ornate, very rusty especially the guard/cover. I would love to learn anything about it. Thanks!

      Standard army officer's dress dagger. All these items must have been stored in a really damp place & a shame.

      So is the water damage irreversible? Is there a way to repair, does it lessen the value or just kill it all together?

      Not dead at all but lowers the price considerably, maybe by 1/3 to 1/2 but I'm not dealing with these anymore & haven't for many years.

      With that eagle it is Luftwaffe and not army.

      Militarist, you are right. BHock45 had me so busy looking at stuff & doing research, that I made a mistake. I think that's the 3rd in my life.lol. Must be getting old! About the only diff. is the eagle but it definitely is Luftwaffe. Glad you caught that as I might not have with all that stuff coming at me. Good show that.
