lovedecant…
(237 items)
Three barrel shaped mould blown decanters, circa 1810. This are blown to match what would have been expensive cut glass decanter cut with grooves and hobnails, with pinch moulded bullseye stoppers. These would have originally been in a decanter stand.
If anyone has a Georgian quadruple decanter stand (I have another decanter somewhere) kicking around looking for something to live in it I would gratefully take it off your hands. Actually these are cheaply made things and I have seen a picture of some in their original stand which was made of what looked like tin covered in leather, so I expect that most of the stands would have long fallen to pieces. I also expect these were common and mass produced and most were just chucked away, so now they are quite rare.
Beautiful stoppers! Wonderful moulding, too!
