Another of my military artwork pieces.

Original oil on canvas of a British Battleship, front view.

Artist is Finlayson and dated 1901. I researched him years ago, when I got the painting, but don't recall any specifics other than the fact that he was a fairly prolific maritime artist from the late 19th/ early 20th centuries.

Reproduction of these images in any form is prohibited.

Hey Scott, I just noticed your avatar there, I've got one of those medals somewhere, sterling and enamel, what are they called again?

It is a Combat Infantryman's Badge or CIB-- the star indicates an award for a second recognized wartime period. Mine are for Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. I also received the award for Operation Iraqi Freedom, but it is not differentiated from OEF. All of my wartime service was with the 101st ABN Division (AASLT).

I like the perspective that it's painted from, it feels like it's going to run you down with it's power & speed.

Thanks walks-- that is what originally drew me to the painting. Most ships painting are side views.

Looks good, any indication what ship it is?

No ID to a particular ship, just a British battleship.

      Thanks for looking and commenting.
