I do not know anything about this doll. Per my research it looks like a German Bisque Head, sleepy eyes doll, with cloth body. She is 26" long and comes with a whole box of clothes. Her feet, leggs and arms are in perfect condition, as you can see her head is chipped. Any info would be great.

    Thanks You

No a bisque doll is a type of unglazed porcelain. This is a composition doll. It looks like the teeth and togue may have fallen into the head. Look along the back of the head for any marks.

Thank you, there are no marks any where. Exactly what is a composition Doll? Does it have any value?

It depends on the doll really. Some are sought after more then others. There is a good chance where your doll is flaking it used to have a wig. You can look through the doll reference site to see if you can place your doll. There are so many, without marks it's harder to place

Composition is generally a mixture of glue mixed with sawdust. Heavier and denser than paper mache.

Here is a comparision of doll materials

I did doll repairs and the flaking is from the composition expanding and retracting. In painting these dolls they were dipped in paint about seven times and the paint did not expand and retract so it broke off. She looks like one I got that came from either sears or montgomery wards in 1936-or 37. I don't know any prices. One would need to check in a bluebook or other pricing book.

My mother in law is 86, she just gave me her Bye Lo, Germaini doll. She is in excellent shape, all her clothes are on her, she even still has the bottle attached to her hand which looks like it's dates Aug 1925. Eyes still open and close, feels like she has a round speaker type of gadget in her back, thinking she probably cried or said, Moma. Just wondering the value of her. Wouldn't think of letting her go.
