    I bought this bowl approx 20 years ago at auction, I was attracted to the vibrant colours! It is 8" tall, top opening of 7" and a big 25" around!! I really am not 100% sure that it is Japanese - maybe it is Chinese -really do not know! Anyway, just thought I would share it with you!! Many thanks.

      chinese - famille noir - i think. if not, it could be a form of famille vert. but it is chinese, i'm pretty sure.

      they probably stylised the tongzhi sloppy ( da qing tongzhi nian zhi) without da qing

      open mouth mark is tongzhi !

      this is an common combination in the 1960-1970, ( decapitated ruyi border)
