Have had this for 25 or so years. Is 12 inches across and 5 1/2 inches tall. Nice pastels is all that I know about it.

Thanks Mustang
Its Chinese, and I think its a pretty good piece too. Very attractive, hand-painted, very well done to boot
Thanks, I appreciate you!
Your welcome, I'm not TOO knowledgable about Chinese porcelain, but I would definitely buy this at an estate sale. Probably worth a bit of money
Wow, I really wasn't expecting that. Thanks so much.
Thanks Bellin and Toracat
nldionne, look at my pot, it too has butterflies and flowers on and a very similar decoration around the top, the stamp looks similar too! Mine is a little more undefined and smudgy compared with yours but they do bear a resemblance to each other!
I do see the similar painting at the top and the marks do look a lot alike, too bad we cant read chinese:) If same stillwater seems to think they may be a good find.
The marks are different. Justanovice's "Auction Buy - 20 Years ago!" post shows four characters stating "Tong Zhi Nian Zhi" or made in Chinese Tongzhi ?? period (1862–1874). While nldionne's blur image shows six characters which looks like "Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi" or made during the great Qing dynasty Qianlong period (1711-1799). However, hold your horses because these stamps have been widely used since early Republic to imitate pieces from those periods even until today. Have my reservations on the underglaze colours and designs, but more research is necessary.
my mom has a pair of these w/ a silver rim on them. i'll take some pics next time i'm back east.
Thanks davezquanw. It would be no real disappointment to me since I really didn't expect a whole lot out of it. Know any Japanese? Posted a vase a while back and have not been able to Id. Thanks so much for your time and good luck to justanovice.
Thanks from me to daveqzuanw!! No I do not think mine is THAT old, a reproduction some time ago probably, but nonetheless a colourful ornament to have around the house!!: ) I am very fond of it!!
My sentiments exactly!
