Antique Chinese painting on rice paper in scroll depicting serveral individuals and horses. Circa 18th century (based solely on condition), it measures 49" height x 19 " width.
There are several symbols painted on the rear of each scroll that are unknown to me.
According to information obtained the scrolls were painted by Sadanobu Hasegawa (1809-1879). He was appupil of Shijo painter Ueda Kocho, a pupil of Sadamasu Vtagawa and the OSAKA SCHOOL. He had mastered the techniques to produce great landscapes, flowers & birds, actors and a series of Hirashige miniature copes.
