I found this really unique USMC Dress Blue's Uniform at a local estate. This uniform looks to have been made for a child and looks to be the size for a 3-4 year old. The buttons on coat are made by the Waterbury button co. Has other patches and buttons and pins that I'm not sure what they stand for. Looks to me made of wool. I was hoping someone could tell me more about this uniform about rank and such. In nice shape any info will help.
Love it! It looks like Dad was a Sergeant! The stripes on the sleeve are for a SGT.
Also looks like a qualification badge on the chest.
This type of child's uniform has been popular during most US conflicts-- esp. the World Wars.
Yours looks like it is WW2 era.

Thanks Scott its really a cool piece and thank you for sharing I didn't realize these were made for children of soldiers very cool and patriotic.
I also just noticed the silver us marine corps pin on pocket is stamped Sterling on the back.
