Hello everyone! I just remembered I had this set. I picked it up awhile ago and totally forgot I had it. It was only a few dollars, and at the time I thought it was junky. So I took a good luck this evening and I am not so sure. Looks somewhat new, no clue what it is made of but it is very very heavy. I guess it is a set for chess and Chinese checkers?

Does anyone recognize the set or the subject of the pieces? The chess pieces are pretty detailed at least. Not sure about this one. Thanks!!

i'd guess that it's from Mexico from the 1970s. My folks bought a carved onyx chess set there back in the 70s. This appears to be something like resin and stone chips - an imitation stone which could be molded vs. carved.

Yes, I do not believe these to be hand carved. They don't have that feel to them at all. My first impression was, "cheap". But it was just too cheap to pass up.

They set is in decent condition, it is only missing 2 or 3 of those green disks, chinese checkers?

I can't believe it is true though. It was 9 dollars at a thrift store.
