I can't believe I found another Rosenthal Bitossi piece. Wandering around the GW and was looking at a piece on the shelf above, nothing fantastic. I glanced down and pounced!!!! She is about 20 inches tall, pretty darn big.
I am thrilled beyond words with this piece although the hubby doesn't seem to share the enthusiasm. Well for 10 bucks, I think he can deal with it ; ))

Five bucks is usually my hard limit on any piece. Didn't blink at ten

I use the 5 buck limit as well but sometimes you have to break the rules for something special !

Hi Mike...I try not to break it too often! I did buy myself a nice entrance table for 45 bucks! About fainted. Not that this was not a super cheap price but that I was spending it a thrift. My hubby laughed at me and told me that if it was a bottle of wine I'd think it was cheap!

Hi Amber. The vase is Bitossi, I think, but I suspect the ash tray is Fratelli Fanciullacci and from the same series of gilded/sgraffitti as Stillwater's new post.
I'm awaiting a reply to an email sent this morning to my mate Thelma who has THE book "Alla Moda".

Vfran, I just pulled it out of a box recently. Unfortunately it doesn't go with our current decor. Hubby voiced a negative opinion dang it! Guess it will go in he flea market pile. Gotta pick your battles I guess.

      Aww what a shame.
If I saw this in a flea market I'd grab it!

      Hi Amber.
      The ashtray.

I finally found out that I was wrong about its being Fanciullacci.

You are right it is Bitossi.
      Aldo Londi.
      From a range called "Seta".
      Seta is Italian for silk.

The pattern is reminiscent of Thai silks, I think.
