Not sure of the age or exactly what they were used for, I was told a cider jug but I seen another here being a beer jug. After doing a little digging I think this may be Moira Pottery Co from England

No marks on the bottom? You could probably find out via the Albany Historical Society when the company was in business.

Thanks for the love maryh1956 I don't believe there are any marks on it other than the ad on it, we are at our house in Florida right now and the jug is at our cabin in North Carolina but as I said I think what you see is all there is.

GTBOI yes I've checked yours I don't have this jug at my house it's at my mountain cabin and I don't have the measurements but it is much larger than it appears in the picture about 18 inches high and about 12 around and quite heavy,I'm glad you enjoy it, I've seen similar ones but not another identical to this one.
