I found this neat Mohawk Gasoline artifact at a garage sale. I bought it because it looked neat and my dad collects native american artifacts. I don't know what this is. It looks like a coaster or something. It weighs about a pound and it is 3 inches wide. Any ideas on what I stumbled across?

I'll buy it for 5 bucks.... Just kidding. This is some sort of promotional item from the Mohawk Gas Co. in canada. Maybe 1930's, or even 1950's. Not an expert on this kinda stuff. Definatly not a native amerian artifact, but a very awesome piece of petrolina antiques.

I remember the Mohawk gas stations in Southern California in the late 1950's. I would look for "gas wars" going on between the major gas stations and Mohawk would be the cheapest. We are talking 13 cents a gal.

A paperweight huh? I never thought about that. It sure would work. Thanks for the responses. I wonder if it sat in one of the administrators offices at one point?

My mail is info@classic-steel.com I am projected to built a nice custom chopper, bike would have some nice native art engraving and i found that this piece would be a good idee to ad on over the gas cap!

Mohawk Petroleum was owned by my grandfather and his brother. Would you consider selling this? It would make a wonderful gift for my father. Please let me know.
