    A old Salvation army drum

This is a lovely looking drum. Not sure how old it is, Roughly 80 years old?
Some of the paint is Flaking off on the top of the rim. Does anyone know how I could stop it flaking off any more, maybe some kind of Lacquer ??

Now that is a striking Salvationist piece!
A glass top and you have the best coffee table.
      Look at that painting!

Be careful with lacquer it could react with with the original paint, I would talk to a pro.
I can understand why you want to preserve this beauty!

If the drum is metal, the paint is likely an alykyd based paint, which can be sprayed with a clear gloss or satin lacquer to stabilize and preserve the orig. paint, I've used this many times on my old signs to help make them "pop". I clean first to remove any waxy finish, using a marine hull cleaner, which is safe on all paints.
Great job you have Phat , you are the last resort for these treasures you are saving from being gone forever! Keep up the good work!
