OLD ANTIQUE ELGIN POCKET WATCH 16'S SERIAL#11454578 DATES YR. 1904 GRADE 299 & 15 JEWEL. WHITE PORCELAIN SINGLE SUNK DIAL, FEW NICKS AROUND EDGE, BLUE STEEL HANDS. BEVEL GLASS CRYSTAL WITH 1 NICK ON EDGE. SORRY MY CAPS KEY IS STUCK!!!! I HAVE A WATCH PRICE GUIDE BUT CANT SEEM TO LOCATE THE EXACT ONE? ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA OF THE VALUE?
if you cant find it in todays world maybe you should start when it was made instead.i have marshall fields book from 1896 and they have watches in there that are elgin and they sold them originally for about 15.00.its a start.thanks frankiesgotstuff
Sir, if you have a price guide that has the grade size, model# and movement # then most would tell you to go by one that is similar with the same movement,grade,jewels and so forth for an estimated value. It would be almost impossible to list and picture every Elgin pocket watch with so many options and cases, dials,etc. However most books or guides picture the higher quality watches and more rare examples.
