I just love the colors in this old frog planter. i think it's very old - maybe 1920s? i have no idea how i accumulate soooo many frogs, but i get at least 2-3 new ones per day.

Caution: You are soon going to end up on the cover of a magazine, what with this battalian of frogs! : )
The colours are great on this one.
thanks mikkochristmas11 and walksoftly!
thanks jayhow. it's old paint, from what i can see.
i know what you mean jayhow. years ago, i did a whole series of photos of the painted rocks in the livermore hills - brilliant colors and absolutely beautiful lichens up in there - but only if you get far enough from all the highways and towns. pollution is fatal to those brightly colored lichens.
Photographing lichens on rocks is something I like to do as well. The colours & patterns on the rocks is always unique.
hi jayhow. i encourage you to take a course. i took one many years ago, but digital photography is a relatively recent hobby and although i never advertise my photos for sale, they are posted on flickr and get a lot of traffic. i usually sell one to three photos per month. they've been used on book covers, playing cards, painted as murals in a casino, and on plant lables and floras. i even got a very interesting job as a location scout for the movie 'Snow White and the Huntsman' because the director saw my photos online. this has all been a huge surprise to me [a recovering cameraphobe!]. i'll look for my lichen photos later, but you can see some of my better photos here:

I was going through your photo's on flickr, you have some excellent photo's. The range of flora & scenery is so impressive there in your region.
thank you walksoftly. california is an amazing place to live and i'm grateful for that every day.
Oooooo it's beautiful. Fantastic frog planter!
