Despite the damage in the enamel I think this is a wonderful Limoges brooch. In my opinion probably pretty old not only because of thee aforementioned damage but also by the beautiful decorative back. The pin closure is missing. A seed peal in the edge missing. I am planning to do an effort to repair this brooch (diameter 2.4 cm). This is according to you worth? And do you agree with me that this might be a very old brooch ? I appreciate your feedback!

Why Limoges? Is it marked Limoges? It looks Italian to me and Very Old I would think! RER (LOUMANAL)

LOUMANAL, thanks for your reaction and loving. No there are no marks at all. But I think Limoges because of the special sparkling colors of the brooch that are often seen at Limoges enamel. I'v several jewelry pieces in Limoges and in comparison with them I think it could be indeed Limoges. But I'm not sure. Why your idea it's Italian and how old you think it is??

It looks to be enameling instead of painted Porcelain, looking at the damaged edges of the Renaissance Girl. I sold a similar "Madonna" brooch with the same metal backing (frame) that had an enameling over a stone-like material (darkish stone-almost metallic) that was signed on the back Italy. The colors were almost identical to this brooch. I am by no means an expert in Jewelry and I have admired all your postings. I was simply wondering if it was signed on the back to indicate Limoges. Your tastes in jewelry are impeccable. RER (BOB) LOUMANAL

LOUMANAL thank you very much for your great compliment but you really remind me too much honor. As you see these two links :http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/83487-a-superbly-crafted-original-limoges-ena
and the other; http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/35962-limoges-enamel-ring-elegant-girl-on-cob at both state Limoges.
As you can see here, also this brooch made in te same type of enamel with the same vibrant colors as the specific of Limoges enamel. That's why I think this brooch is made there too (France) but much older than the mentioned two examples.

Just Beautiful! I agree that this one is much older than the one you linked us to. I guess that this one is also marked but would be difficult to remove from the holder. Certainly worth repairing!! RER (BOB)

I think old and my first thought was Italian. BUT I am but an admirer no expert!
      How are you Agram?

AmberRose, thanks for your attention and comment. I'm well and it's always a pleasure to see beautiful things on CW and to enjoying a passion is good for health I suppose. But how are you? It's still winter where you live? Here we have snow and light freezing, very late and unusual for this time of the year. You mentioned Italy, why was this your first thought? My first though was and is still France, Limoses but I could of course easily be wrong! Please your comment.!
