I need help with this. I know absolutely nothing about art. I am trying to find out what type of art this is and if it is valuable. The picture is Leda and the Swan and it is signed by Igor Kononov with the numbers 36/400 in the left corner of the picture. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is a bio of the artist. 36/400 means this is a Limited Edition print. It is number 36 of the 400. It is also signed.

Thank you Savoy. So limited Edition is good right?lol I really don't know about art. What do you call this type of picture?

I am a novice also. Perhaps DizzyDave will jump in. LES (limited editiion signed) is good. In this case , only 400 people can have a signed/numbered copy. However, he could chose to make 10,000 copies and sign them one at a time as they sell. This is an OPEN Edition. When those sell he can have another 10,000 printed.

This print was probably a couple of hundred dollars, new. Matting and framing, maybe $100 - $150. Today, in a thrift shop,$5 - $25.
