Bevo was a non-alcoholic malt beverage, or near beer, brewed by the Anheuser-Busch company beginning with prohibition in various states around 1916. I recently acquired this very thin Bevo metal sign to go along with my tray and bottle. Bevo was produced until 1929.

Thank you officialfuel!
Nice sign! Have not seen many of these!
Thanks for the comment retroraabe.
Thanks SEAN68!
Because drinks such as Bevo basically are unfermented beer and as such contain many calories and nutrients they may have been first produced to help sick people and babies "thrive".
Even today, non-fermented products are popular in The Caribbean and Hispanic worlds, and generally go under the grouping "Malta". And in the Northern Hemisphere, an perhaps in the rest of the world too, such maltas appeal to Islamic people, who are forbidden to have alcohol.
The maltas are really sweet and filling, and provide a lot of energy, or can fatten one up, depending on one's level of activity....
Thanks Ted!
Than you Uxbridgeite !
