This is a small prussian shaped pulley ring decanter with bullseye stopper circa.1800

Pulley ring decanters are pretty rare, and I apart from in books I have only seen 2 and I have them. This small one is a new acquisition from a antiques centre in Stamford. I have photographed it next to my full sized cylinder shaped pulley ring decanter to give a feel for size.

My books tell me several companies in the US made them back in the early 1800s so they may be more common there.

Love those bulls-eye stoppers! So the design of the decanters is imitating a wooden barrel with brass hoops? Is it a moulded decoration? I have never seen them before. Thanks for sharing them!
