From 1923-27 a French company, Andre Debrie, modified the Autocinephot made by an Italian company F.A.C.T.. The name Sept ("seven" in French) was probably for the seven functions of performance capable by this little camera: still photos, sequential photos, cine (motion picture), still projector, cine projector, enlarger, and cine transfer machine.
This being the first Sept Debrie model it consisted of a square single spring housed motor drive and rarely seen Anastigmat Huet 50mm F3.5 lens. Sept II had a two spring motor drive and front bulge to the top of the housing. This camera is in excellent shape and fully functional. Original and unaltered it came with the leather case, and two extra cassettes. Also heavy and egonomically challenging.

Thank you JohnKratz. When I purchased the camera I wasn't sure exactly what shape it was in. The seller had only a vague description and the pics were unclear yet the asking price was well under the norm. I was familiar with the model and decided to take a chance. Apparently, right place right time. Got lucky. Thanks again.

As an FYI, in my early days of collecting I owned a round motor version. This is the nicest square body (first version) I have ever seen.

Thank you rniederman. I don't know how it happened. Better yet, the seller didn't know what he had and no one bid on it. The price was ridiculously low. I was a bit concerned when I first purchased it ontil I recieved it.
