Can anyone identify the designer of this particular chair and when it was made? The chair was my grandmother 's. I was thinking of refurbishing it myself but before I do just wanted to make sure it is not valuable due to it being so vintage and mod.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
So, so elegant! Do nothing to it!
Check out Finn Juhl!
It's a stunner!

Wiener I think.
I'm just reading the patent application.

Have a look and see what you think.
Is it the design of the chair or the upholstery technique he is applying for in this case?
Has he just chosen this chair as an example, I suppose is the question.
The other names being suggested in the ether are:
Some say:
Ib Kofod Larsen 1921-2003
Others Elias Barup & Hans Olsen.
Hans Olsen designed something similar called Model 55 in 1955 for N. A. Jørgensens Furniture Company.
Some say Greta Jalk.
And others Seymour James Wiener.
But there are so many in the US with that Kodawood label.
I've been trying to find out more about them.
Who was Kodawood of Miami?

Hans Olsen for NA Jørgensens Møbelfabrik.
"Lænestol nr 134", Hans Olsen, N. A. Jørgensens Møbelfabri. looks similar but the back leg and support looks different.

This one looks more like this chair:

You can see the direction of the wood grain that some people talk about in this example's photos.
The Kodawood examples are said to have a horizontal grain and the Europeans a vertical grain.
This is another take on it and gives both chair backs as examples:

Kofod Larsen chairs vs the Kodawood.
The difference in the back is distinct.

Hi Scottgrosk!
Can you put up a side and a back photo of the chair?
As Sean said, does it have the Kodawood sticker?
I know exactly what you mean!
It looks like its a kodawood because the back legs of the chair are attached similar with metal rods. There is no label on the back. This is most likely due to the paint not being original.
The chair back is just like the green one on this link http://mcmnerd.com/archives/1672/kodawood-of-miami-ray-charles-kofod-larsen
I think it is beautiful! Have you found out any more about the designer?
