These two little beauties belong to Carlos' collection, but they were one of the gifts I gave him last Christmas.

Of course I knew he loves Ingeborg lundin's designs (he's got the famous Apple - http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/61279-ingeborg-lundins-pplet-orrefors-195?in=collection-111 - and some amazing Ariel vases - http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/54894-ariel-vase-with-geometrc-designs--ingeb?in=collection-111 and http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/53273-ingeborg-lundin-ariel-vase-with-horses?in=collection-111 - ) so I saw heaven before me when found this couple for sale at a pretty low price -well, he already knows that, so I can say it openly now-. and be able to give the perfect gift. I also gave him a decanter by Lundin -and last month, for his birthday, three more Lundin items... As you can see, I am getting every Lundin glass item in the market for him, LOL.

The colours n both of them are amazing. The yellow is so bright and the purple is maybe less bluish than it appears in the picture, and so deep and beautiful!

By the way, this purple vase has an Orrefors label I had never seen before. My guess is that it is early 1950s or even 1940s (Lundin joined Orrefors in 1947, remaining there untill 1971), but I cannot find any information about it. Any clues anyone?

The signature on this vases is simply "of" as is that one of a bigger one in light jade green.

Both beautiful! It will be interesting to hear about the labels. White, silver, green, red, was there a black?

Maybe it is because it is so close to Easter but these remind me of two big beautiful eggs. Spring colors...remind me of tulips. Lucky Carlos!

      Thanks cobalt!

Yesterday I wrote Orrefors enquiring about the metallic red label, and they just answered me: it was used between 1920 and 1950, which means this vases were designed at the end of the 1940s... I always though this kind of vases (with the little glass peak) were very 50s, but I see Lundin was a few years ahead tendencies here :)

The lady from Orrefors has always told me these came in a few colours (although didn't mentioned which) and this one was the strongest of them all.
