Any help in identifying the object that the man and woman are holding would be greatly appreciated.

I bought this online and first had interest because it came with another image showing the same prop fence ( I will post both images in another posting).

After looking at it for a while, I saw that it was some sort of occupational-- may best guess was that it was a large glass plate negative (online images were not top quality).

When I received the image, I quickly ruled out the photo negative, but I have been unable to make an ID.

    Thanks for any input.

Scott ... this looks like a typeset printing bracket of some sort. The left edge looks like words and the larger metal pieces could be 'cuts' for illustrations ... at least that what it appears to be. I put the image into photo-editing software, rotated, created a mirror image and then enlarged. I can vaguely see what appears to be the word "Rib" (first word) in the lower setting.

I think the typeset idea is plausible, the image looks like a parlor stove in the upper part of the frame.
I hadn't even noticed the object in her hand, till you enlarged it here, it does look like a type holding tool with type in it.

I think that may be it rob! It does look like it could be a printer plate with an engraved object-- may some sort of advertising sheets.

Thanks for the link david-- you and rob seem to have figured it out.

This occupational appears to be a printer and his wife (??) who also worked in the shop!
