Abraham D. Hopper was a NY City photographer that was active from 1853- 1860. He was active at this address from 1857 until 1860.
Interestingly, his photographic cases have the address spelled incorrectly-- "Bleeker" vs. "Bleecker"! I wonder if it was his mistake or the case maker's error.
In this particular image he has beautifully captured two young siblings. The girl wears a locket with a red tinted ribbon around her neck.
The painted backdrop conveys an interesting dusk time period to me. I am not sure if that was the intent or just the result of the overall dark appearance in the image.
