This is a Civil War era carte de visite showing a man with a locomotive at his side.

I don't know if the locomotive is a model or a toy, but it looks to be very well detailed (more so than I would expect for a toy).

The image came in an album with other 1860s era images. Most carry Mass. backmarks, but this particular image is not photographer marked.

Reproduction of these images in any form is prohibited.

Don't think that is a Happy Houlligan toy. Maybe the sales rep. from a locomotive manufacturer with detailed model or even a print.

A toy, I suspect, with his right hand around it. Could be a model.

Hey, he does have his hand on it. I thought it was in the background instead of the foreground.

Thanks for looking and commenting buss.

It shows some extra detailing that I wouldn't expect in a toy.

That's not a toy. Has to be a salesman's model.
