Don't know if this is Chinese or Japanese, it has marks on the lid and the same mark under the lid that is is inside the bowl and underneath it has a mark of a dragon and something else, if anyone know what this is please comment
What do you do with all of this stuff? I don't get the impression that you make much effort to research for yourself. For instance, you've posted a lot of Oriental pieces and it seems you still aren't able to tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese? I would think that if you'd been looking around on Google for all of these things that you would at least learn what is Japanese and what is Chinese?
Are you mad at me about something?
from what i'm reading about stillwater and the comments being left on mine and other users it seems there is an intent on just being negative. live and let live. are we not all here because we enjoy these things and like to get more info on all of it. no one knows everything about anything and it's a nice place to come to for that. negativity directed at others for no reason is just a waste of time. Be positive stillwater, be supportive, would you not want the same for yourself? anyway Songwriter I like checking your pics out - you have some cool things.
Thank you vintagechild :) in respond to stillwaters questions , I am always researching , that doesn't mean I know if the item is Chinese or Japanese, some things i know, and what do i do with all my stuff? well what do you do with your stuff? this is collectors weekly last time I checked , or did they change it to another name ?
I'm adding a thousand more items before this month is over I don't know if they are Chinese or Japanese , lol
Its just that I post things here as a last resort, after spending hours or DAYS scouring Google and not finding anything.
I guess I spend such a huge amount of my time researching intensely and I see your things that are like "old vase, don't know what it is." Come on now, where's your spirit?? The mark on the bottom of your chawan here is very, very common, you could find it if you REALLY wanted to! (Plus I've already identified it for you before...) I guess you just aren't very attached to your things?
I didn't know it was a chawan , how did you find it ? did u google dragon red mark on ceramic?
To be honest I just found that bowl in my basement yesterday, I forgot i had it
I'm not attached to anything only the ghost in my home
thanks for letting me know what it is .. .. while your at it , I posted a bowl with iron oxide ,, now, there is a auction house in NY who I had sent pictures of it to, and they are very interested in this piece and they are asking fo r more photos. but they won't tell me what it is .. this is what I have been researching for a week, .. go check it out for me thanks
i say this because i know how much u love to google wink
my spirit has left for now
well i thought this place was for showing off your stuff "Show n tell"
I went to Christies auction and they have some chawan going for over 1000 bucks, i only paid a quarter for this bowl I am sure mine is worth more than a quarter
thats very nice ,great find , guess that water aint so still , making waves ,
The mark isn't chawan, the type of BOWL is called a chawan. Don't get too hyped up over the Christie's catalog. Just because its in the form of a chawan doesn't make it valuable.
Ha, no, I'm not going to "go check it out for me thanks." Go find some other guy to use.
You keep saying "dragon mark," what the heck are you talking about? There's no dragon mark on that thing.
oh chill out i was only joking i google my own stuff. I don't use people and I am not rude to people either .. I don't get hyped up .. now you need to take a chill pill or something .
are u blind? don't u see the dragon underneath the base of that bowl?
Thank you Lundy , lol I can handle stillwater
Bring it on
all I said was that Christies had some chowan , and I also said i paid a quarter for the bowl and it is worth more than that i can get hyped if i want
Lol, that's not a dragon. The marks on the bottom are two kana/kanji characters. Japanese writing.
oh my bad :)
you can call it is an chawan AKAE only can see a generic kutani ,probably an other mark on the lid which demystify , does,nt make yoy rich, nothing wrong with , why is not this MEJJI ?? because it is just generic paradigma fallacy !
