lovedecant…
(237 items)
This is a cased glass, green over clear, tea pot shaped decanter, made between 1900 and 1930, probably by St Louis.
I got this today, and I am afraid I had to pay folding money for it. It has to be one of the craziest coolest decanters in my collection. Something is going to have to come off the mantle piece in my study to make way for this baby. There is something anthropomorphic about it as the spout is obviously the head and the other end is obviously the arse.
I am sure I have seen Saki bottles in this shape, and I wondering if this is trying copy that shape.
These are usually attributed to St Louis France
Manddmoir, Have you seen one of these before, as I have never seen it before. Most of the attributed case decanters I have seen that come from the same period this appears to have are Stevens and Williams. I thought that due to the stopper and notchy handle. Happy to have a more accurate attribution. It is unmarked.
This is lovely!...:-)
hi
yes seen plenty before -often with 6 matching glasses and occasionaly a tray
I have this same exact piece with 4 glasses. Do you have any idea what the value is? Thank you.
