I must admit I purchased this little stoneware mushroom shaped bank with the intention to resell, but fell in love with it, so will use it for my hubby's pocket change. I'm guessing the monogram belongs to the artist, probably an amateur going by how the money slot was cut, but the glaze is incredible. Must have been from a country with a currency beginning with "D". A huge cork stopper serves as the base.

Thanks for the loves everyone! No Geno, it was done all at once The glaze goes down into the slot , and isn't sharp and the rim is unglazed, as a base would be. The top side wobbles when you flip it over too. I'm sure it was all made that way originally.
