    This beautiful ashtray was made by my father in law in 1940. In the lab at Gladding McBean. One of our most treasured memories of him. We have never seen another one like it. If you have we would love to see it.

      Thank you, our son has asked for it...maybe someday. I just hope he doesn't use it as an ashtray, way to neat for that.

      I found this ashtray was most likely made about 1934. It appears to be earthenware in satin ivory glaze. It is either a one-off or a prototype. It has been fun looking for the information so I will continue to do so.
