One of my wife's favorites, Henryk Winograd made this beautiful Repousse fine silver pendant, Primavera. This one is about as large as I have seen in this style. It measures 2 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide and weighs 43 grams. Henryk learned silversmithing from his father and he was Polish who fled to Russia during WWII. Most of his life he was denied the opportunity to be a silversmith suffering through Stalins Labor Camps. He immigrated to the US and began silversmithing here and became the one of the most notable silversmiths being the only ever to do a one man show in the Rotundra in Congress. Truly a Repousse master. His items are very collectible. Showing his gratitude to this Nation for his freedom and opportunity to work in his field, he created a plaque of immigrants on a ship (taken from a london newspaper in 1890) and it is now on permanent display at Ellis Island. This was an excellent find at a garage sale, paid silver weight plus $10 dollars at the time which was a little over $50.
