I've been collecting a variety of 70s toys for around 10 years now. It started when I first met ebay and found my favorite toy as a kid, Big Jim. Well alot of money a alot of different stuff later, I'm really proud of my collection. The pictures I posted were just a sample of his stuff as the collection that mattel put out was incredible and big. I have things like lunchboxes, cars, kung fu studios and other things. They were the answer to action figures right after the vietnam war. They wanted a toy that wasn't about army and war, so they came up with Big Jim. He can do everything and anything and believe me, there's a set for everything he can do. I love it though and as I start to get grandchildren, they play with these sets for hours. However, they are given one toy and have to show grandpa they can treat it well, then they can have free reign. (didn't think I'd just give it to them did you?). From Jim I for some reason got into collecting a huge Chips collection. You know Ponch and Jon? I'll post that collection later. I love it and have it on display in my living room. Its been really fun collecting these things and the latest thing that I've put together is collecting various 60s batman toys, books, batmobiles, and any other odd thing I can find.

No I haven't gotten to post it yet. I'll start putting up pics in a couple days. It is a cool collection. My latest aqquistion is a cool 45 record from brazil with the chips theme, only its not done bythe original guy, so its really cool at the end you hear the dispatcher say attention all units, chips will be back in a moment and the record ends. Really cool. But yeah check back in a couple days I"ll start posting my chips stuff. Thanks. After that it will be my small 60s batman collection. Some cool stuff there too.

I collect 80's and I very rarely come across CHiPs items so I know they are hard to come by

Actually,I've collected allmy chips stuff through ebay. A couple items were a while to wait for, but I try to jump on the rare stuff right away. gonna post the pictures now so I hope you enjoy them. I took pictures but more of each shelf, so if there's something you'd like to see closer, just let me know and I"ll snap it for you. Now the fun part is finding a person to appraise the value of all these toys so that I can cover them under insurance. Anyway here's some pictures of my chips toys and more big jim and a couple other things I have in my den. Hope you enjoy as much as I've enjoyed collecting all these. Talk to you soon.

Me and my brother had to have two of each of all the toys from Big Jim. Or we would fight over them. My favorite was the Kung Fu studio. Thanks for posting.

Hey bob, yeah they are great memories, I"m looking to add evil to my collection next, I only had his motorcycle launcher, but you know what to this day, its the only toy that was actually as fun as the commercials. Hang on to that stuff man, it does go up.

rayme, your so right it was a blast, i was pretty excited to get my hands on these since i didnt still have my original evel stuff, i can remember launching the bike off my front steps of our house and my dog took off with the evel doll , i chased him about 3 or 4 blocks before he would drop it and then pick it back up taunting me i evenatually got it but it was full of teeth holes i was bummed then but happy years later to get my hands on one again. ive got an old gijoe green army box full of his uniforms ,boots, guns and i think a cycle that is a kit too that my friend gave me too

Yeah, there was something about Jim that through all my years having kids, married, divorced, he was the one thing I always missed. Somewhere i have the video of me at 5 getting him for Christmas, soon as I can i"m gonna rip it and post it on my facebook page. Almost daily I go into my den and just look. Just look at the collection and smile, and when the grandkids come, it will be played with for hours and you better believe Grandpa will be in there with them. LOL> I set up the olympic ski run once when I was all alone, I think I took up about 3 hours and yes he really skis down and jumps off. Too cool, I'm glad that you were able to get the same feelings as I did when my first piece of Jim showed up in the 90s. Of course I started of meaning only to buy what I had the sports camper, but years later and hundreds of dollars and I have a decent collection. Have a great day Bob, I feel sorry for the ones who don't understand why we do this. Something just to make you smile is rare these days.
