Small bowls - Gunnar Nylund for Strombergshyttan 1950s - 60s.

Now I have found a pair of small, thin bowls in the same lime color as the vase top. One bowl has a Stromberg stickers left, so these are certainly from Strombergshyttan. I want to attribute even these to Gunnar Nylund. They are probably from the 1950s or possibly the first half of the 1960s.

As I see it, the bowls are blown in underlay technique. Doing that with such small glassware and to get them so thin, is very difficult. Just a skilled masterblower can handle a job like that I think. You initially put a small colored ball, cut from a color bar (in this case lime colored), on the pipe. Then capture a clear glass layer over the ball and blow some air into it. Finally blowing the glass ball in a mold. You must get exactly right proportions between the colored underlay ball and the clear glass over, also the same thickness of the walls when blowing in the mold, otherwise the dense of the color differ to much. These two are apparently not perfect in that case. The bowl with the first sorting sticker is as it should be I think.
