I picked up this lamp at auction last night. The shade appears to be silk with pearls sewn in, an awesome dragon holding a ball as a finial, the lamp itself is metal, very heavy and the mark on the back of the lamp base is one I have never seen before. I'm hoping someone can help me ID and date this. Thanks.
Here's a pic of the lamp without the shade.
The lamp body looks like an old kerosene lamp(maybe Kayo). Does it have or show signs of a filling spout? Thinking maybe a conversion & could help date it.
I don't see any sign of a filling spout. I am still trying to figure out the mark on the back. I appreciate any help you can offer!
What I'm saying is the body of the lamp could be from a kerosene lamp & was often done. The base, shade, wiring etc. may have been added later. Many,if not most kerosene lamps, were filled by unscrewing the top to fill. Does the top part of the body look like a separate piece that might unscrew. I can't see that part in the pics..
Here's a pic of the lamp without the shade. The wiring is newer. Thanks for your help blunderbuss2.
Not a conversion so we have eliminated that & back to square 1.
I took the base apart a bit and found it was made in India by Stalwart. Never heard of them. Now I am having trouble putting the base back on!
