      It looks like a leather seat Old man of the North refers to the head on the back of the chair. Not being able to see it I would put it early to mid 1800's 35-60. Great old finish. To bad the seat is damaged. I can tell you it would cost a pretty penny to replace the seat If you had some one retool you a new one you're looking at around $200+ for real good job stained and cut to set back in the seat.

      Thanks James , yeah im not too worried about replacing the leather , it still has the straps under it , plus for me i like it this way . gives it a lil somethin? ya know? thanks again...B
