I bought this from a street vendor in the middle east. No idea what it is and any thoughts would be appreciated. Feels as hard as steel. It is 4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. It weighs 1 lb., 2.3 oz. Any ideas? I'm not even sure which category to put it in.

This may sound strange, but it looks almost like pictures I've seen of grenades that were loaded with gunpowder.

      That's a possibility I never thought of.

I did find a few pictures of grenades that are similar, but, they didn't have the handle looking part and the lip around the whole was not on the grenade. Also the grenades were about an inch smaller all around.

I'm sure it's a clay/stoneware pot, find a glass wick holder, fill with liquid paraffin, and your all set.
