Achille Gamba Watch Display Stand~Gold Plated?~Dbl Sided~Gorgeous finish

Hello Again,
I bought this, along with a couple of other nice items, on my way home from work. I was talking with a friend on the way to the register at a favorite thrift shop and saw this tucked behind a bunch of junk. The curve of the upright piece and color of gold caught my eye.
I could see that the casting and finish were exquisite, and the decorative elements beautifully realized, also, the color of gold looked more like gold plate than brass.
I took a look at the bottom and noticed a few different stamps, the maker, 'Achille Gamba', and a couple of numbers,....it got me excited.
From there I went to visit my Mom, and just arrived home about a half hour ago.
The couple of pieces of Achille Gamba that I've seen online are beautiful.
Do you suppose it was made in France, or Italy?, I'd love to know more about the piece and the company, any help would be appreciated.
