I got interested in barber shop items some years ago when I had learned that my grt grandfather and grt, grt grandfather were barbers in Denver, CO in the 1890's. They continued barbering when they moved to Los Angeles in 1910 up until the 1940's. Does anyone remember using "Wildroot Cream Oil Charlie". The mirror sign has the envelope that my mother kept a lock of my first hair cut by my great grandfather.
Those are some cool items! I especialy like the wildroot sign.
I like the Wildroot sign because I remember using that white goose grease in the 1950's.
I love these pictures and items. I need to know where you found some of these things because I wanted to make my restroom into a barbershop for my boys. I have two boys a 4 year old and another on the way and i think making a dual bathroom with the theme would be great!
Cindy, The shaving mugs came from a auction in Newburgh, NY. The barber pole I found at the Rose Bowl swap meet, the Wildroot sign came from a friend of mine who restores barber chairs. You can find the barber bottle in most antique shop or on Ebay now days.

Hi there. My Dad has been trying to track down a glass spray bottle used by barbers back in the 50's and probably before. Does anyone have any info on these? His latest chair by Theo A Kochs has what appears to have 6 award medals saying "Nashville, Tennessee, 1897". He was wondering if there is a reproduced sticker/label of some kind available. Last thing.....I promise. He has a bunch of chairs, 19 to be exact and would be interested to find out correct background info on these. Is there someone out there who can help or somewhere to look for this. Thanks for your time. Nadia
I am looking for the Smock or Jacket that i remember barber's wearing in the early '60's...Have not had any luck,...the type w/high neck and snaps. Would love to know where i can find one.
