I came up with this idea about 20 yrs ago. Thought it would be a nice idea for an advertisement. The idea was to have "TIME FOR A COKE" at the bottom & top but one to be inverted. Never could decide whether the top or bottom should be inverted! I would like to hear opinions on that point. This prototype was made from real bottles, real wood & glass blasting beads for sand (drove U.S. customs nuts when I brought it up).
Thinking that I have what I can sell to Coke, make my fortune and move up to the sunny tropical beaches of Hudson Bay that Al Gore keeps promising, I made my move. I contacted Coca Cola & they told me that they have 4 advertising agencies that I would have to work thru. Each told me in turn that they didn't take "outside ideas".
I finally just mailed my prototype to the Coke musee' in Atlanta & resigned myself to living in the climate of St. Maarten instead of tropical Hudson bay. Guess we were meant to suffer!

You are a true visionary blunderbuss2, too bad the coca-cola people did'nt realize the genius in simplicity and craftsmanship! Who's your little crabby friend?
    3. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Actually, I posted my crabby friend/fiend with a joint in it's claws as "Stone(d) Crab" some time back. You must be on 6 month delay. Guess I'm going to watch what I have in the background in the future!
Belling, you haven't been getting our jokes? I'll have to update you.

Blunder only you could create such a gimmicky timer LOL :-)))))))))) But what is that huge spider doing on your table . I know he is the guard for the people that don't get 2nd's before the timer says :-) Love it

Mani, read #6 & ck my site. Actually it is the lobster. Actually, I tried & tried to get 1 hr. out of the blud-clot thing but the best I could get was 37 mins.. Size of the glass beads (yes, glass beads) & changes in humidity prevented my use of a smaller center venturi but the timer part wasn't the object. Figured these could be made in relief plastic signs. Still think they missed on this but would probably have to show a digital thing in these days.

Thanks everybody. Phil/D/A/M, when you have too much time on you hands, look around & invent. I'm an inventor by nature, just haven't made much at it. Inventing is the easy part. Protecting your invention & marketing are the hassle.

More creative Coke ideas. Cool idea. Too bad the red tape held you back from the millions:) I see you have heard the whispers before...
    15. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 6 years ago
Thomas, are you on 6 yr. delay. Coke did contact me but can't give details because of nondisclosure agreement. Let's just say that I will have to stay and suffer it out in SXM.

Volume vs risk wasn't practical. Now, flying up dressed as the Michelin Man is an idea. LOL !
