The new book: WISCONSIN MILITARY AND CIVIL MEDALS by Fred J. Borgmann will make it’s debut at the OMSA Convention in Milwaukee this August 8-11! This book will be unlike any state and local medals book ever published before. Nearly 200 full color 8x11 pages printed on 70# digital white paper which will be coil bound making this book both user friendly and durable. Over 300 listings of which well over 200 are fully illustrated. Listings include physical descriptions with color scans of the front and back. Historical footnotes and photos are also included with some of the listings where appropriate. There are so many rare and unique medals listed in this book that it reminds me of the novel Fahrenheit 451 in which a government bans books because books only cause unhappiness by informing readers of things they can not hope to have. The cover design features a colorized copy of a rare and virtually unknown Fredric Remington drawing which was presented to the Milwaukee Light Horse Squadron on their twentieth anniversary in 1899.
Are there pre-order forms to send before it's debut?
Dave
Not yet Dave. The graphic artist is still working on it. Then when he is finished I will have the final page count which the printer needs to determine his charges. Only then will I know what the cover price will be. Thanks for asking.
The book is now in the hands of the printer. When born this baby will weigh in at 176 pages including the covers. With a much thinner wallet I can sit comfortably now and wait.
