I wanted to post something for the vets, as my dad was. I'm reposting his WWII dog tag, but adding some of my mother's things as well. The Protection of your home from air raids booklet was sadly required reading material for my mom & her family when she was 12 & living in London. I remember how she told me with tears in her eyes how she just said goodbye to her best friend minutes before she was killed by a bomb. She came to the USA when she was 21, met & married my wonderful dad & became a citizen while Truman was in office. I want to say thankyou to all the brave men & women who served our Country, as well as the ones protecting us now. Please display your flag proudly, something that takes so little effort, but yet so few do here in Las Vegas. Everyone have a safe, happy holiday!
At first, I thought the last bottom letter was a "B" for blood type but looking again, it appears to be an "H". Is there no blood type on the "dog-tags? How about some info from "youse-guys" on this. I thought blood type was mandatory.
Hi, blunderbuss. It's an "H" for Hebrew. I don't see anything about blood type
That's it E4B. Guess I just missed it under the shadow.
Thanks, Phil! My father's name was Phillip David as well!
