Found this stuck in the roof of my basment. I found the tin sign in an unopened wooden crate. This thing is in perfect condition. Camera film box used circa 1931. Does anyone know if it is rare or of value?

That is incredible. I'm no expert, but I've seen similar things bring hundreds of dollars on eBay, and they were not nearly as pristine as this one.

Wait! What I meant to say was that it's worthless, but I will do you a favor and take it off your hands! ;o)

Thanks JohnKratz. This item blew me away when I found it, i'm no collector just a lucky finder.
I am trying to find out more about it. It is a british sign. Property of Kodak Kingsway London is written on one of the creases in small letters.
There are some small marks on it, done during manufacturing I think , this thing came straight out of the sealed box

      for sale?
    5. kev, 14 years ago
No! what do I do with it. Do I hang it, outside or inside. Is it worth keepin?
    6. JohnKratz JohnKratz, 14 years ago
It's made to be hung, but I would hang it inside. It will rust if you hang it outside.
I'm confused about the question, "Is it worth keeping?", since you said it's not for sale. At any rate, I would say it's certainly worth keeping unless you find it's too large to fit anywhere comfortably. If that's the case, there are many people who would absolutely love to own such a wonderful piece, including me!

Sorry, I mean if it's worth just a few pennies I would not keep it. If it's worth a few hundred I would find somewhere to hang it proudly. Inside seems to be the best suggestion. I have searched the net to find a value to no avail.
How much would it be, can you help?

Make sure you keep the crate it came in also. It makes them worth more if kept together. Nice find
    14. JohnKratz JohnKratz, 14 years ago
Wow, congratulations Kev! It's really an incredible piece.
I would certainly keep the crate as suggested above, but I would also keep a copy of your correspondence with Kodak as well.

I know I cannot sell on here, so could any one recomend a place or site to sell this.
The wife will not allow me to hang it in the house, it sadly has to go.

Had it looked at by the Antiques Roadshow people at St Andrews a few days ago (26th may). John Foster and Hilary Kay came to a price of £400.

Hi kev, Do you still have this sign? I have 4 different versions of this sign, NC Film (10's-20's), Autographic Film (20's-30's), Verichrome Film (40's) and a newer Verichrome (50's). () are the estimates of dating. What is special about your sign besides the incredible condition is the hanging part. Seems that it is usually missing. My (50's) sign has the hanging part... but not the others. I would definitely keep it inside. I have never posted here before but my website is http://www.kodakcollector.com I mostly collect kodak stuff in original boxes. My signs are not currently pictured and are not in such wonderful condition, but I can provide pictures.

Well done to Kodakcollector, he is now the proud new owner.

Ah, no surprise that Kodakcollector got it, and no doubt that he is indeed proud!
      Congratulations, Charlie!
