I found this pendant today. It is unmarked and feels a lot like the little rose next to it in the second photo. The little rose is made of ivory and was part of a huge necklace. It belonged to the mother of my best friend - and she let us take it apart and play with the pieces. The rose in the centre was more than an inch. I got one of the smaller ones to keep.
The little pansy looks like it was worn on a ribbon, rather than on a chain. It doesn't feel like plastic. Can anyone help?
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks Moonstonelover and mustangtony:)
Moonstonelover, have you ever seen something like this?
this is either carved bone or carved tangua nut -- i would guess bone however due to the straightness of the striations -- very pretty
Thanks a lot epson233. I guess it is really hard to tell from a photo. I guessed too that it was carved but I have never seen seen neither of the two materials you mentioned before.
Thanks again:)
your welcome -- following is info on the tangua nut

Also many thanks to nldionne:)
Thanks Newtimes:)
Thanks a lot, antiquarius123 and Manikin:)
I love the little rose. I had a pair of clip on earrings like that but lost one. If I come across the other I'll see if I can find any markings on it.
Thanks a lot, rainh:)
