This was an added item at auction this weekend. Am curious what M. W. of A. means. The name on it is Lizzie Foutz and it is dated 1910. The lettering is in gold. just curious if anyone had any ideas. Thanks! Thanks Mustang!!!!!
Oh Eye we all get it a little backwards sometimes. Now I'm going to be stuck on this little thing for days.
Yes stuck, I'll be crazy until I find out why Lizzie foutz was given this.
Will let you know if I see one.
This EAPG glass pattern was made by Duncan & Miller and is known as Button Arches.
How do you do that?????
Thanks Charcoal
You have got go be kidding!
Again, how do you do that. I googled and did not see her.
Right !!!
Read that the modern woodmen opened a TB hospital during outbreak in early 1900's. Wonder if it is same one he went to. Said the sanatorium treated 12,000 people no charge and it was in Colorado I think.
He might. I'll follow up to see. Thanks guys.
I sent him a message explaining what's up. Will let you know how it turns out. Let him know it belongs to him if its hus Lizzie, which I have no doubt it is.
Indeed it is. My sister and I were talking about the same thing. If he is going through all the trouble of tracing his family it would be an important piece for him. I would just throw it in a box.
Was at auction box lot. Bought a box of stuff for a few dollars that had a wall pocket in it. Rest of stuff is in car to go to Salvation Army tomorrow so it was just a pice they had thrown together with 7 or 8 other pieces. It is all good, the right thing to do!
Thanks Vetraio
Wow, I read the whole story with baited breath! Just fascinating. Thrilled you found the ancestors. How much fun to add to this mans research. Must feel good...heck I feel good just reading it. Eye and Tony are rockstars!

Sent him pictures if glass. He is very happy. Will let you know what happens.
Going in mail to him Monday. His response-
Wow - thanks so much. Really. For taking the time to research and care to reach out. Really neat to have this piece to remember her by. Makes me wonder what else is out there....
Ah shucks Eye. You wod have done the same thing. In fact while I was talking to my sister about it someone suggested it:)
Yes you are right mr positive thinking:)
I did the right thing sending it to him. That's the main thing!
Stunning nldionne :) love it:)
Its a cranberry glass as well
Wow!! That is amazing that this glass found it's way back home, thanks to you Eye!!! You did good my friend, you did good!!
Yes, you did very good sweetie!
Awesome!
Hard to believe it has been two years since this was posted. Of course it would be a much more interesting story if everyone's comments were still on the post. Looks like I'm talking to myself :)
I know!!! Used to take be two or three days to figure out who these new guys were.
Glad to see you're back to Eye, but Russ was kinda cute:)
Nice talking to you too!
Me too. This turned out to be a special piece to be in a box lot. Just wanted the wall pocket. I'm glad I didn't throw it in the Salvation Army box with all of the other stuff. Kind of cool to contribute to their family history. Wish Tony knew!
Is he a sneak too? Hope so :)
It's a great story for us. That's good enough for me.
I believe is is from the M. W. of A. 1910 Academy of Music. Modern Woodmen of America Records. - United Camps of the Boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, Modern Woodmen of America, Academy of Music, Brooklyn, N. Y., Thursday, January Twentieth, 1910.
